The Black Girls Handgames Project (HGP) is a grassroots roots initiative committed to revitalizing the cultural tradition of handgames (Miss Mary Mack, Gigolo, and Rockin' Robin) to create fun learning opportunities for Black girls to reclaim their childhood innocence while combating the affects of adultification bias.
HGP merges the contemporary sounds of hip-hop with age old childhood handgames to produce immersive workshops, performances, activations and education curricula celebrating the games Black girls play and their lived experiences.
